Ancient glass - buried for centuries, for millennia. When we scrape away the dirt which adhered through the ages we find the unimaginable beauty of translucent glass shining with yellow, red, green, purple, gold and silver iridescence. It was a fascination with this beauty that led to the beginnings of this collection.

Some of the works look so much like ceramics that the question "this is glass?" comes quickly, to mind. The adorable personal accessories that look like lumps of the remembered colorful taffy of childhood. Works of such superb, today inimitable, technique that they were the cynosure of ancient royalty. One by one, in an instant this collection grew and its numbers swelled.

It is my great hope that this exhibition will provide visitors with an enjoyable visit to the fascinating world of the richly individualistic beauties of ancient glass, indeed, to this fairy tale world
of wonders.
