Ceramics, Buddhist art, Japanese paintings and tea ceremony
utensils, including important Cultural Properties such the
Yama Deva, a Heian period hanging scroll, or a Yohen-Tenmoku
tea bowl. Many of these items were acquired by Mrs. Mihoko
Koyama.
The
North Wing surrounds an open-air garden of moss, granite
pebbles, and large Saji rocks. Presented here are among
the finest tea ceremonial objects in Japan and an elegant
tearoom designed by Yoshiaki Nakamura. Among the North Wings
treasures are Buddhist artworks and Japanese ceramics dating
from ancient to pre-modern times.
