Since the Miho Museum opened in 1997, both the Peach Valley Restaurant and Pine View Tea Room have gained well-earned reputations for their excellent cuisine. In keeping with Shumei's commitment to wholesome, delicious food and a healthy environment, all fruits, vegetables, and grains used in the preparation of the food and beverages served are grown in accordance with the Natural Agriculture method. The Peach Valley Restaurant, located in the Reception Pavilion, offers a traditional Japanese menu. Special favorites with our guests are the Onigiri-zen, a rice ball platter, and our Soba Noodles with Saut'eed Vegetables. Enjoy the rich taste of nature at its purest. The dishes, cups, and chopstick holders that are used in the Peach Valley Restaurant are all superbly crafted ceramic works by Tsujmura Shiro. The Pine View Tea Room, located inside the main Museum building, serves breads, sandwiches, beverages, cakes, and desserts. May we suggest our Green Tea Cake? How does the delicate harmony of alternating layers of green tea-flavored Bavarian creme and sponge cake sound? A rich variety of other tasty cakes are also available. The breads served at the Miho are made from the finest domestically grown wheat and freshly baked on the premises.

Sauce bubbles up between the strands of the traditional Japanese buckwheat noodles called soba. These delectable noodles are the products of pure earth, water and sun. A touch of wasabi or chopped leek make them even more tasty. As a side dish, savor a plate of mountain vegetables, freshly sprouted from the earth, then lightly sauteed in a delicate batter. |
