New Biography of Meishusama Published
“Sincerity and Truth, the Life Story of Meishusama,” authored by Gerard Rohlfing and illustrated by Yasushi Fujimoto, is now available. Three years in the making, the biography is the first major book to be published by Shumei America's Publication Department, and is Shumei's first English language publication concerning the life of our organization's founder. The work traces the life of Meishusama from his birth in the slums of Tokyo, through his years of struggle with poverty, sickness, and persecution, to his ultimate revelation on Mount Nokogiri, and final apotheosis. The text of this book is now being translated into German and Italian, and plans are underway for French, Portuguese, and Spanish versions as well.
“Sincerity and Truth” was printed by Nissha of Japan, one of the world's foremost printers of fine books. It has a hardbound, cloth cover with embossed silver type; archival paper stock making up the interior's 132 pages; and illustrations rendered in duotones.
